BETTERMENT

BETTERMENT - That one word embodies Willis A. Smith Construction's approach to community involvement.

Willis A. Smith Construction’s mission statement sums it up: “to promote excellence and integrity in the construction industry while simultaneously contributing to the betterment of the communities that Willis A. Smith Construction serves.”

Willis A. Smith Construction’s community efforts originate with our team members – organizations or activities in which they have a personal interest or affiliation. Since 1972 the company has given back to many community initiatives. As residents of this community, the firm feels a responsibility to participate in activities that promote the betterment of our neighbors. Employee volunteers perform community service each year on behalf of the firm in over 30 local, not-for-profit organizations.

In 2010 we began actually tracking our volunteer hours and in 2011 the firm received the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national honor offered in recognition of volunteer service to the community.

  • 2,000+ hours in 2010
  • 1,700+ hours in 2011
  • 1,077+ hours in 2012
  • 630+ hours in 2013
  • 645+ hours in 2014

We continue to track these hours and fully intend to continue this tradition.
