LAKEWOOD RANCH — Del Webb has launched construction on a 27,000-square-foot clubhouse at its adult community here.
Del Webb, a national brand of PulteGroup, plans to build 1,300 homes in an age 55 and over "active" community in master-planned Lakewood Ranch.
The clubhouse, which the builder says will be the focal point of the community, will include a state-of-the-art fitness center, group fitness studio, catering kitchen for residents' private parties and a WiFi cafe. A full-time lifestyle director will plan events and activities in and outside the community, the company said.
Other amenities include a lake-front restaurant, resort style pool with lap lanes, spa, and fire pit.
Eight pickleball courts, six tennis courts and four bocce courts are slated to open on March 25. The clubhouse will open in the fall, the company said.
Del Webb is selling homes with 10 open floor plans ranging from 1,289 square feet to 2,684 square feet of living area and priced from $230,990 to $529,060.
The clubhouse was designed by Hoyt Architects. Willis A. Smith Construction is the contractor.
