East Manatee Fire Rescue District 2
This project, located just west of I-75 on State Road 64 in Bradenton, was a new replacement station for East Manatee Fire and Rescue Station No. Two (EMFR #2) that was currently at this location. Also located on this site is a 1,000 SF storage building used to house equipment and materials.
The new EMFR #2 station includes three bays for apparatus and rescue vehicles. The living and sleeping accommodations replaced the common space dorm rooms with six individual dorm bunks, a workout room, full bathrooms, a dayroom, and a kitchen dining area. Attached to the apparatus bay, includes rooms for gear storage, laundry, and an attic storage area.
This building was designed to withstand Category 4 hurricane winds that will allow the full six member crews to be able to respond to emergencies even after severe weather events. This facility also has back-up generator power to keep them in operation.
