Re/Max Office Complex
The RE/MAX Professional Building replaced the previous RE/MAX Real Estate office on the busy corner of U.S. 41 and Webber Street. This three-story, 98,000 square foot facility is one of the larger free- standing RE/MAX headquarters buildings in the country. The structure contains 30,000 square feet of office space for 151+ agent offices with two levels of parking above. The project demanded that not one, but two businesses (RE/MAX and SouthTrust Bank) remain in operation during construction. The site, traffic, parking layout, retention area and landscaping dictated that the office building “footprint” be only 147’ X 227’ – virtually the area of a football field. Pre-cast concrete was chosen as the building structural system due to the ease, quickness and simplicity of construction. The building was constructed in five and one-half months and was significantly under budget. The old RE/MAX building will be demolished to provide parking for SouthTrust Bank.
