The Diocese of Venice - St. Martha's Catholic Church - Zazarino Center
This project consisted of the completion of a new 28,000 SF recreation/classroom center on an occupied, fully functioning Kindergarten through 8th grade school campus. Additional site work included a new paver brick entry plaza and the expansion of the existing on site storm retention area.
The building program included a full gymnasium with six basketball backstops, retractable bleachers on both sides with a capacity of 500, a dividing gym curtain, a stage with curtain, locker rooms, and a score board. The gym structure was supported by radius barrel trusses for height and the gym flooring was a specialized vinyl sport finish with epoxy flooring in the locker room area.
HVAC systems were connected to the existing chilled water system. Additional spaces included four new classrooms, one of which was for music, a multi-purpose community meeting room, a lobby and concession area.
