FSU-Ringling Museum of Art-Main Galleries Expansion

The 34,000 SF expansion of the Main Galleries provides 23,000 square feet of new gallery space for future exhibits for The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. This addition expands the total gallery space to 122,560, enhancing the Museum’s ability to present major traveling exhibitions and exhibit more of the permanent collection now in storage. This design was inspired by a design approved by John Ringling himself. An interior courtyard was designed for a future atrium for outside exhibits with the ability to provide HVAC at a later date. The extended loggia and central courtyard currently allow for social gatherings. All architectural details, dating back to the 1920’s have been carefully replicated to continue a fluent harmony between the new and the existing buildings.
